THE HORL® PRINCIPLE OF SETTING AND SHARPENING

Sharpening knives can be so easy. While the sharpening jig magnetically fixes the knife, two rotating discs ensure a precise grind. Sharpen the blade with controlled pressure. With the diamond disc you remove material, the ceramic disc refines the result.

Diamond
Grinding Disc
The HORL®Diamond Standard is the ideal surface for efficiently sharpening all knife steels of any hardness without water. The grit size of 46 μm allows for optimal sharpening results and guarantees a long service life.

Ceramic
Honing Disc
After processing with the HORL®Diamond Standard, the ceramic honing disc significantly refines the grinding result. A few movements are enough for this. The result is a smooth, clean and perfectly sharpened knife edge.

20° Sharpening Angle
for stable sharpness
The 20° sharpening angle is the ultimate all-purpose weapon in the fight against dull knives. It gives even many pocket knives a stable edge and excellent sharpness for daily use.

15° Sharpening Angle
for maximum sharpness
With the 15° sharpening angle, particularly fine blades made of Damascus and high-quality carbon steel achieve maximum sharpness. These knife edges can be ground very filigree while maintaining their stability.

High-calibre
Efficiency
The HORL®Diamond Standard is the most durable and efficient abrasive on the market. The monocrystalline diamonds are harder than any knife steel and are fixed in a nickel bed by galvanic process to approx. 55%.

The Magnetic Sharpening Jig
The secret to the perfect angle
The combination of strong neodymium magnets and the HORL®S-Pad allows for secure fixation of the knife during sharpening. Reinforced by the anti-slip effect of the S-Pad, even small blades can be consistently and reproducibly sharpened at the desired height.

HORL® Quick Lock: Thanks to the innovative locking system, the grinding discs can be changed with just one hand.
