With the HORL® 2 Pro, Otmar and Timo Horl are fulfilling a very personal dream. A high-precision internal planetary gear generates a triple grinding motion through a simple rolling movement. Thus, the HORL® 2 Pro sharpens at triple the speed compared to other HORL® rolling sharpeners. Solid stainless steel and aluminum components ensure a particularly elegant look in a dark bronze tone.
Diamond Grinding Disc
The industrial diamonds we use are suitable for all knife steels of any hardness to sharpen efficiently without water. With proper use, the HORL ® Diamond Standard never needs to be replaced. The grit size of 46 μm grinds efficiently and precisely for a high-quality sharpening result.
Ceramic Honing Disc
After processing with the HORL® Diamond Standard, the ceramic honing disc significantly refines the sharpening result. Just a few movements are sufficient for this. The result is a smooth and cleanly ground knife edge.
20° Sharpening Angle for Stable Sharpness
The 20° sharpening angle provides new sharpness in a short time. The knife retains its sharpness for a long time due to the stable edge and is suitable for various cuts in everyday kitchen use. In the outdoor area, it also gives many pocket knives a stable edge and excellent sharpness for daily use.
15° Sharpening Angle for Delicate Sharpness
With the 15° sharpening angle, particularly fine blades made of Damascus and high-quality carbon steel achieve delicate sharpness. These knife edges can be ground very finely while maintaining their stability.
High-Caliber Efficiency
Industrial diamonds are considered one of the most durable and efficient abrasives on the market. The monocrystalline diamonds are harder than any knife steel. Using an electroplating process, approximately 55% of the diamonds in the HORL® Diamond Standard are fixed in a nickel bed. The initially rough surface refines itself after the first sharpening processes, and the HORL® Diamond Standard achieves its desired grinding surface.

The Secret to a Consistent Angle
The combination of strong neodymium magnets and the HORL®S-Pad enables secure fixation of the knife during sharpening. Reinforced by the anti-slip effect of the S-Pad, even small blades can be sharpened consistently and reproducibly at the desired height.
