Product description
SECOND GENERATION SHARPNESS.
With the HORL® 2 Pro, Otmar and Timo Horl have realized a personal dream. A high-precision internal planetary gear system generates a triple grinding motion from a simple rolling motion. This allows the HORL® 2 Pro to grind at three times the speed compared to other HORL® roller sharpeners. Solid stainless steel and aluminum components ensure a particularly elegant appearance in a dark bronze finish.
Diamond grinding wheel
The industrial diamonds we use are suitable for all knife steels of any hardness, enabling efficient sharpening without water. With proper use, the HORL® Diamond Standard never needs to be replaced. The 46 μm grit size ensures efficient and precise sharpening for a high-quality result.
Ceramic honing wheel
After processing with the HORL® Diamond Standard, the ceramic honing wheel significantly refines the grinding result. Just a few strokes are sufficient. The result is a smooth and cleanly ground knife edge.
20° grinding angle for stable sharpness
The 20° sharpening angle quickly restores sharpness. Thanks to the stable edge, the knife retains its sharpness for a long time and is suitable for a wide variety of cuts in everyday kitchen use. It also gives many pocket knives a stable edge and excellent sharpness for daily use outdoors.
15° grinding angle for delicate sharpness
The 15° sharpening angle allows even the finest blades made of Damascus and high-quality carbon steel to achieve an exceptionally fine edge. These knife edges can be ground to a very fine finish while retaining their stability.
High-caliber efficiency
Industrial diamonds are considered one of the most durable and efficient abrasives on the market. These monocrystalline diamonds are harder than any knife steel. Using an electroplating process, the diamonds of the HORL® Diamond Standard are approximately 55% embedded in a nickel bed. The initially rough surface becomes smoother after the first few grinding operations, and the HORL® Diamond Standard achieves its desired grinding surface.
The magnetic grinding gauge
The secret to the constant angle
The combination of powerful neodymium magnets and the HORL®S-Pad ensures the knife is securely fixed during sharpening. Enhanced by the S-Pad's anti-slip effect, even small blades can be sharpened consistently and reproducibly at the desired height.
