Product description
XADR ONE MAHOGANY
The XADR ONE is the answer to the needs of knife enthusiasts who yearn for a reliable, professional knife sharpener. With just a few strokes of the XADR ONE, any blade is instantly sharpened – perfect for quick touch-ups. Whether at home, in the workshop, or on the go, the XADR ONE ensures your knife always delivers optimal cutting performance. Compared to the XADR SLIM, the XADR ONE, with its slightly larger design, offers improved handling and customizable aesthetics. The XADR ONE's greater weight provides a solid and comfortable feel. Like its smaller sibling, the XADR ONE features a dressing rod made of high-quality industrial ceramic, ensuring lasting sharpness and protecting the blade. A unique feature of the ONE is the removable sleeve, which can be customized to reflect your personal style. All made in Germany.
How do I find the right angle with my knife sharpener?
The correct angle is crucial for optimal sharpening results. With the XADR ONE knife sharpener, you ideally work at an angle of 15° to 20° per side – this corresponds to the standard for most kitchen and outdoor knives. The smaller the angle, the sharper (but also more delicate) the edge becomes; larger angles make it more robust.
How does the XADR professional knife sharpener work?
The XADR ONE uses a sharpening rod made of high-performance industrial ceramic. During the sharpening process, you draw the knife blade evenly across the ceramic with light pressure. The knife sharpener realigns the blade's fine cutting edge and removes even the smallest imperfections – without damaging the blade. The precise, manual guidance ensures maximum control during sharpening, so you always achieve a clean, professional result. The handle also serves as a carrying case and sits securely in your hand. Thanks to its modular design, the XADR professional knife sharpener can be customized and is suitable for both kitchen knives and outdoor tools.
Which knife steels can be sharpened with the XADR?
Because the high-tech industrial ceramic is harder than any steel, all knives with steel blades can be sharpened without any problems. Due to its compact size, the XADR ONE is ideally suited for sharpening pocket knives, fishing and hunting knives, carving knives, or survival and bushcraft knives.
Can I also sharpen Damascus knives with the XADR ONE?
Since ceramic is harder than any steel, even hard knife steels can be easily resharpened with the XADR ONE.
How long does the ceramic of the XADR ONE last?
Because industrial ceramic has a very high degree of hardness, it is not damaged during the sharpening process. Therefore, the XADR ONE can be a companion for many years.
Knife sharpening vs. knife honing - what's the difference?
Sharpening a knife involves realigning the cutting edge through targeted, precise movements – the XADR ONE knife sharpener does this particularly efficiently. Only a minimal amount of material is removed. Sharpening is ideal for regular maintenance and ensures your knife remains ready for use. Grinding, on the other hand, refers to completely rebuilding the cutting edge – usually with coarse abrasives or machines when the knife is severely damaged or extremely dull. Grinding requires more expertise and is more aggressive on the material.
The delivery includes the sharpener, a jute carrying bag, a leather strop (approx. 30 x 130 mm) and a high-quality metal tin.
