About the small knife sharpener XADR SLIM MATT
The XADR SLIM is your mobile knife sharpener for always sharp blades. Whether outdoors or in everyday life – after use, gently draw the blade over the high-quality ceramic rod just a few times. The ceramic does not wear out and protects the blade during resharpening. This way, you can restore any steel blade to top performance in no time – quickly, efficiently, and ready for use anywhere, all made in Germany.
Ceramic is the second hardest material after diamond and perfectly suited for sharpening knife steels of various hardnesses. The ceramic in the XADR was specially developed for knife enthusiasts through months of material research and intensive testing phases. It is treated with a unique process so that the XADR removes as little material from the blade as possible during sharpening while simultaneously achieving incredible sharpness.
The XADR is a compact and portable sharpener that proves its worth in many situations. Whether at home, on the go, or in professional everyday life – a sharp pocket knife is fun and often necessary. A key design point of the XADR was therefore to keep it as small as possible. The sleeve of the XADR also serves as a handle and protects the sharpening rod when transporting the device. By storing the sharpening rod in the sleeve, the length of the XADR is halved, making it easy to store in your pocket.
Which knife steels can be sharpened with the XADR?
Since high-tech industrial ceramic is harder than any steel, all knives with steel blades can be sharpened without problems. Due to its compact size, the XADR SLIM is ideal for sharpening pocket knives, fishing and hunting knives, carving knives, or survival and bushcraft knives.
Can I also sharpen Damascus knives with the XADR?
Since ceramic is harder than any steel, even hard knife steels can be easily resharpened with the XADR.
How long does the ceramic of the XADR last?
Since industrial ceramic has a very high degree of hardness, it is not damaged during the sharpening process. Thus, the XADR can be a companion for many years.
Can I also sharpen dull knives with the XADR?
The XADR is primarily suitable for consistently maintaining a knife's sharpness. If a knife has become somewhat dull, it can still be sharpened with increased pressure on the sharpening rod during the grinding process.
