Ceramic is the second hardest material after diamond and is perfectly suited for sharpening knife steels of varying hardness. The ceramic in the XADR was developed specifically for knife enthusiasts after months of material research and intensive testing. It is treated using a unique process so that the XADR removes as little as possible from the blade during sharpening while giving it incredible sharpness.

The XADR is a compact and portable sharpener holder that proves its worth in many situations. Whether at home, on the go, or in everyday working life, a sharp pocket knife is fun to use and often necessary. An essential design feature of the XADR was therefore to keep it as small as possible. The sleeve of the XADR also serves as a handle and protects the sharpening rod when transporting the device. Storing the sharpening rod in the sleeve halves the length of the XADR, so it can be easily stowed in a pocket.

Which knife steels can be sharpened with the XADR?

Since high-tech industrial ceramics are harder than any steel, all knives with steel blades can be sharpened without any problems. Due to its compact size, the XADR SLIM is ideal for sharpening pocket knives, fishing and hunting knives, carving knives, or survival and bushcraft knives.

Can I also sharpen Damascus knives with the XADR?

Since ceramic is harder than any steel, even hard knife steels can be easily resharpened with the XADR.

How long does the ceramic of the XADR last?

Since industrial ceramics have a very high degree of hardness, they are not damaged during the sharpening process. This means that the XADR can be a companion for many years.

Can I also sharpen blunt knives with the XADR?

 The XADR is primarily suitable for maintaining the sharpness of a knife. If a knife does become a little blunt, it can still be sharpened by applying greater pressure to the dressing bar during the grinding process.
