Product description
About the small knife sharpener XADR SLIM MATT
The XADR SLIM is your portable knife sharpener for consistently sharp blades. Whether outdoors or in everyday life – after use, simply run the blade gently over the high-quality ceramic rod a few times. The ceramic doesn't wear down and protects the blade during sharpening. This way, you can quickly and efficiently restore any steel blade to peak performance – fast, efficient, and ready to use anywhere, all Made in Germany.
Ceramic is the second hardest material after diamond and perfectly suited for sharpening knife steels of varying hardness. The ceramic in the XADR was developed specifically for knife enthusiasts through months of material research and intensive testing. It is treated with a unique process so that the XADR removes as little material as possible from the blade during sharpening, while simultaneously achieving an incredibly sharp edge.
The XADR is a compact and portable sharpening tool that proves its worth in many situations. Whether at home, on the go, or in everyday work life – a sharp pocket knife is both enjoyable and often essential. A key design aspect of the XADR was therefore to keep it as small as possible. The XADR's sleeve also serves as a handle and protects the sharpening rod during transport. By storing the sharpening rod inside the sleeve, the XADR's length is halved, allowing it to be easily stowed in a pocket.
Which knife steels can be sharpened with the XADR?
Because the high-tech industrial ceramic is harder than any steel, all knives with steel blades can be sharpened without any problems. Due to its compact size, the XADR SLIM is ideally suited for sharpening pocket knives, fishing and hunting knives, carving knives, or survival and bushcraft knives.
Can I also sharpen Damascus knives with the XADR?
Since ceramic is harder than any steel, even hard knife steels can easily be resharpened with the XADR.
How long does the ceramic coating of the XADR last?
Because industrial ceramics have a very high degree of hardness, they are not damaged during the sharpening process. Therefore, the XADR can be a companion for many years.
Can I also sharpen dull knives with the XADR?
The XADR is primarily designed to maintain the sharpness of a knife. If a knife does become somewhat dull, it can still be sharpened by applying more pressure to the dressing rod during the sharpening process.
