Franz-Albrecht zu Oettingen-Spielberg, born in 1982 in Munich, comes from the traditional aristocratic family of Oettingen-Spielberg. He was introduced to hunting at an early age by his father, a passionate hunter and successful Olympic Trap shooter. From a young age, Franz-Albrecht developed remarkable shooting skills and a deep understanding of hunting practice.

His great passion is driven hunting, especially for wild boar. With his exceptional shooting technique, strong instinct for game, and clear commitment to ethical hunting, he has earned an outstanding reputation among hunters across Europe. Today, he is regarded as one of Europe’s most skilled and respected hunters, combining traditional hunting values with modern practical experience.

For more than two and a half centuries, PUMA has been manufacturing hunting knives of the highest quality with great passion and dedication. Many PUMA knives have become true classics and are highly sought after not only by users, but also by collectors.

One of these special models is the PUMA Extension Knife, which was originally produced from the 1930s to the 1950s. Due to its original purpose, this model is also known as a “boar spear”. Now, PUMA has decided to reissue this extraordinary knife.

The PUMA Extension Knife features a foldable, 19 cm long blade made of stainless 440C steel with a hardness of 57–58 HRC. When folded, the blade extends significantly beyond the end of the handle, allowing the knife to be used for finer work as well. The movable guard, also known as a “Swing Guard”, lies flat against the handle when closed and moves into position in front of the handle when the blade is unfolded, providing reliable hand protection during demanding hunting tasks.

In addition, the Extension Knife is equipped with a reversible lever that serves as both a safety mechanism and blade release. The blade features a retro-style inscription, underlining the traditional character of this special reissue. Selected stag horn scales and a precisely fitted leather belt sheath complete this elegantly crafted hunting knife.

With this exceptional Franz-Albrecht zu Oettingen-Spielberg (FAOS) Edition, you receive the PUMA Extension Knife together with a cognac-colored leather sheath. The back of the main blade features the FAOS logo as well as the individual serial number of the knife.

The knives are consecutively numbered. Numbers are assigned in the order in which orders are received; therefore, it is not possible to select a specific number.

According to its design, the Original PUMA Extension Knife is a two-handed folding knife with a locking blade. It is therefore not classified as a one-hand opening knife under § 42a WaffG. Please note that legal regulations may vary depending on the specific situation and location, particularly in public areas or designated weapon-restricted zones.

As natural materials are used in the production of this knife, variations in color, structure, and appearance may occur. Each knife is unique.
