Product description

The original PUMA "Verlängerungsmesser" (extension knife) has been one of the most sought-after rarities for decades and is now available again.
With great passion and dedication, we have been manufacturing hunting knives of the highest quality for over two and a half centuries. Many PUMA knives have since become true classics and are among the rarities sought not only by users but especially by collectors. One of these special models is our "Verlängerungsmesser," which we produced in the 1930s to 1950s. We have now decided to reissue this model, also known as a "Saustecher" (boar sticker) due to its original purpose.
The new PUMA Verlängerungsmesser features a foldable, 19 cm long blade made of stainless 440C steel (57–58 HRC). When folded, the blade extends significantly beyond the end of the handle, allowing it to be used for finer work. The movable guard ("Swing Guard") lies flat against the handle and swings in front of the handle when the blade is unfolded to reliably protect the knife-wielding hand – for example, when dispatching game. Additionally, the "Verlängerungsmesser" has a foldable lever that serves as a lock and release for the blade, which features retro lettering. Selected stag horn scales and a precisely fitting leather belt sheath complete this beautifully crafted product.

Compliant with § 42a WaffG: The original PUMA "Verlängerungsmesser" is a two-handed utility knife that locks when opened and closed. It is therefore permissible to own without a permit and may be carried in public without special reason, both in the unfolded and closed state.

As we process natural products, variations in color and structure are possible – each knife is unique.
