Course details at a glance:
Course duration: 1 day – from 09:00 to 16:00, ideally on Saturdays
Course content: Choose from our classic blade models and learn all the steps of knife making in an intensive practical course – from selecting high-quality steel, grinding and shaping, to assembling an individual handle. Our experienced course instructor will impart sound specialist knowledge and practical techniques. Our experienced knife makers will guide you step by step through the process, so that by the end of the day you will hold your own fully functional knife in your hands.
Number of participants: The course takes place in small groups with a maximum of 6 people. This limited number of participants ensures personal supervision.
Costs: The price for the knife-making course is €690 per participant. This amount includes all materials, tools, and expert guidance throughout the day.
Prerequisites: No prior knowledge is required for participation – the main prerequisite is your enthusiasm for craftsmanship and an interest in knife making.

Terms of Participation and Safety Regulations: Participation in the event is at your own risk. No liability for damages will be assumed among participants, towards supervisors, or the organizer. This exclusion of liability does not apply in cases of intent or gross negligence. To protect all involved, each participant is required to provide proof of valid private liability insurance.
Required Equipment: Please bring appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, and safety glasses.
Registration and Cancellation Policy: Due to the limited number of participants, we recommend early registration. Should you be unable to attend the booked seminar, please inform us immediately, but no later than 30 days before the start of the event. In this case, the payment already made will be fully refunded. For cancellations after this deadline, cancellation fees of 50% of the amount paid will apply. If no prior notification is given and you do not attend the seminar, participation is deemed to have taken place, and a refund is excluded in this case.

Our founding
Johann Lauterjung registers his trademark in the Solingen knifemakers' register.
1876
Production expansion
The founder's great-great-grandson is also manufacturing pocket knives, stilettos, sabers and hunting knives for the first time.
1900
Entry in the commercial register
On May 26th, the name “PUMA-Werk, Lauterjung und Sohn” will be entered into the Solingen commercial register.
1953
Puma classics are created
Production at the PUMA factory is being switched to functional hunting, fishing, leisure and sports knives.
1995
Modernization of production
New manufacturing methods, such as CNC machines and laser technology, are being promoted.
1998
Hiepass-Aryus family
Businessman H. Hiepass-Aryus takes over management and moves into the modern headquarters in the Solingen district of "Aufderhöhe".
2024
Over a quarter of a millennium PUMA
The “Solingen Knife Manufactory” has existed for 255 years – and the story continues.
