The "Gebrauchshirschfänger nach Frevert" model was already being manufactured in the mid-20th century and is one of the classic hunting knives — by PUMA Solingen.

Crafting hunting knives is our passion! As a traditional company, we still feel obligated today to give classic and time-honored designs the recognition they deserve alongside our more modern models. For this reason, we are proud to present this impressive and iconic PUMA Hirschfänger in an exceptionally high-quality, limited edition of 2 × 50 pieces as our new PUMA Annual Knife 2026.

The original Gebrauchshirschfänger, model number 3599, is without doubt a masterpiece from our workshop. It was developed by Senior Forest Master (OFM) Walter Frevert in the 1930s/1940s and manufactured by us from the mid-1950s through 1993.

Collectors may choose from two variants, each limited to 50 pieces: elegant oryx horn or traditional stag horn scales (item number 312026). We have carefully restored original carbon steel blades (non-stainless) from our archives to produce these extraordinary annual knives. The crossguards are laser-engraved with an oak leaf motif on both sides. Each piece bears an individual serial number. A high-quality greenish-brown leather sheath is included with this exceptional Hirschfänger. The Annual Knife is delivered in a black wooden presentation box.
