The "Defender" model was originally designed in the 1990s by Richard Hehn, one of Germany's most renowned knifemakers. Now, we have reissued this coveted knife as a special edition limited to just 100 pieces. The blade is crafted from rust-resistant SuperClean® Balbach Damascus steel and hardened to 60 HRC. For the handle scales, we have chosen robust buffalo horn and the exceptionally elegant ivory substitute "Elforyn® Super Tusk." Both versions are limited to 50 pieces each. Finely ornamented engravings on the pommel and bolster lend this handcrafted collector's knife an additional touch of elegance. It comes in a high-quality wooden gift box, complete with a black saddle leather sheath and certificate.
Since we process natural products, visual differences between the knife image and the originals are possible.
Buffalo horn is a unique material, predominantly dark brown in color, but it can also exhibit white and gray patterns, with mineralization being the decisive factor in determining the color. The grain also varies between animals and can reveal new structures when deeper layers are worked. It can be worked similarly to wood – by carving, sawing, grinding, and polishing.
