The 30ml dropper bottle is ideal for targeted care of your knife—whether after a hunting trip, daily use, or storage in a cabinet.
What Makes Ballistol Special
Ballistol Universal Oil is one of the few alkaline oils on the market, and that’s exactly what makes it the perfect companion for any PUMA knife. It conditions, cleans, lubricates, protects against rust, and penetrates even the finest crevices and capillary cracks. Ballistol does not resinify even after years of use; it is completely biodegradable, food-safe, and gentle on the skin. Once applied, it remains effective indefinitely without leaving any sticky residue.
Blade Care & Rust Protection
Knife steel needs protection, especially after coming into contact with moisture, blood, or food. Ballistol forms an alkaline protective film on the blade, neutralizing hand sweat and other acidic residues that promote rust. Thanks to its low surface tension and exceptional penetrating power, the oil reaches even the finest cracks in the steel. It removes old grime and residues from unsuitable oils, leaving the blade shining like new.
Wooden Handle Scales
The natural wood handles of PUMA knives—whether walnut, olive wood, or oak—are all protected, preserved, and revitalized by Ballistol. The oil deepens the grain, protects against moisture and rot, and prevents drying out and cracking. Ballistol restores the original luster to wooden handles.
Handles made of horn and deer antler are natural materials that require regular care to remain durable and visually appealing. Over time, they can dry out, become brittle, and lose their characteristic luster—especially with frequent use or when stored in a dry environment. One to two drops of oil, applied sparingly and gently massaged in, penetrate deep into the natural structure, protect against moisture and drying out, and restore the grain and silky luster. The oil is biodegradable, skin-friendly, and leaves no harmful residues.
Plastic & Synthetic Handle Scales
Handles made of synthetic resin, G10, Micarta, or other synthetic materials also benefit from Ballistol. It keeps plastics elastic, protects against drying out and becoming brittle, and restores the shine to surfaces—without leaving a greasy film.
The Mechanics of Folding Knives
The mechanics of a folding knife are precise and delicate. Ballistol lubricates hinges, springs, and guide rails, keeps all moving parts running smoothly, and reliably penetrates even the tightest corners. It dissolves old oil and dirt residues, allowing the mechanism to run smoothly again—without becoming gummy.
Leather Sheaths & Leather Straps
Ballistol restores softness and elasticity to brittle, dry leather and protects it from drying out, water, and rot. Leather sheaths, carrying straps, and belt pouches can be conditioned and waterproofed with Ballistol. The leather does not become greasy, and the product’s characteristic odor dissipates quickly. Caution: Not suitable for suede; light-colored leather may darken.
Environmentally Conscious Care
All active ingredients in Ballistol are of purely biological origin. The base oil is medically pure white oil—food-safe, skin-friendly, and free of substances of animal origin. Ballistol is completely biodegradable and harmless to the environment. The perfect care oil for anyone who wants to maintain their knife in a sustainable and responsible way.
Ideal for caring for your cutlery. Whether it’s lubricating pocket knives and multi-tools, protecting the blade from corrosion, oiling the wooden handle, or caring for the leather sheath (not suede) to keep it supple and water-repellent—these are just a few examples.
Universal Oil is food-safe and can be used for countless purposes. The product does not resinify or dry out. It is biodegradable and gentle on the skin. Free of animal-derived ingredients.
Contents: 30 ml in a plastic bottle with a dispensing tip, ideal for applying drop by drop, especially for folding knife mechanisms.
