Sometimes we receive stories that truly leave us speechless. A Puma knife, unearthed from a field not just once, but twice as a genuine field find.
Decades after its disappearance, in different fields. The story of the Stoltenberg-Frick family from Stakendorf is one such story, and we are proud and grateful to be able to share it with you here.
The first generation: A Puma knife for hunting and farming
In the 1970s, Günther Stoltenberg-Frick acquired one of our Puma knives. It accompanied him on hunts and was used daily in agricultural operations – a reliable tool for stable work that served faultlessly for years.
At the end of the 70s, the Puma knife was lost in the stable. Unnoticed, it made its way into the field with the manure and was worked into the earth – hidden deep in the ground, without anyone knowing where.
The first field find: The Puma knife emerges from the ground
About ten years later, while plowing a field, his son Dirk Stoltenberg-Frick made an extraordinary field find: his father's Puma knife emerged from the ground – a decade after its disappearance, worn and weathered, but still recognizable. What sounds like a miracle truly was one.
Dirk put the recovered Puma knife back into use, primarily for stable work.
And then – as if fate had planned a second twist – it disappeared again. Again with the manure, again into a different field, again deep in the ground.
The second field find: A second miracle
Years passed. And then, once again while plowing, the Puma knife reappeared as a field find – this time in a different field, years later. Lost twice, returned twice as a field find. A story one hardly dares to write.
The condition of this extraordinary Puma knife visibly tells its story: marked by decades of work, earth, and time – yet still with real utility. This is exactly what we at Puma understand by quality. No field find could have proven this to us more impressively.
Our joy – and our promise
It is a special pleasure and honor for us to restore this unique field find for the family and breathe new life into the Puma knife. We hope that it will remain with the Stoltenberg-Frick family for many more years – and perhaps even more generations. A tool with such a history deserves to be passed on.
