The PUMA SGB Trapper Wood is a classic American-inspired pocket knife with two blades of equal length but different shapes – a clip point and a Spey blade – made of 1.4116 stainless steel (55–57 HRC). The 90 mm long handle is fitted with elegant Jacaranda wood scales and polished brass bolsters. As is typical for classic trapper knives, the PUMA SGB Trapper Wood does not have a lock. Instead, it uses a slip joint mechanism that holds the blades in the open position with spring pressure but allows them to be folded in at any time in a controlled manner. This makes the knife compliant with § 42a and legal to carry in Germany, as it cannot be opened with one hand and does not have a fixed lock. The blades are opened using traditional nail nicks, which also give the knife its nostalgic charm. With a blade length of 71 mm and a weight of approx. 85 g, it is compact, handy and versatile – ideal for outdoor use, hunting or as a stylish collector's item.
The SGB line from our overseas representative, PUMA Knife Company USA, includes several traditional-style knife models that have proven themselves in American hunting grounds and can also serve well in British hunting grounds. All knives in the SGB series have blades made of German steel in accordance with DIN 1.4116!
